great strides in organization and a little backpedaling

I'm at least trying to be organized. It's a never-ending battle, of course, but I'm fighting the good fight with my new purchase of questionably-made white storage furniture. The sooner I restore order to my work space, the sooner I get a shop update underway.

But I already succumbed to temptation and ordered two new dress patterns (more distractions):

adorable!

couch!

This is our illustrious new thrift store couch. I'm pretty excited about it, frankly. It's extremely cushy. There may be a slipcover and some cushion recovering in its future, though, despite my being kind of in love with its big ol' ugly floral self. I'm thinking maybe a sturdy solid color to set off all that alluring squareness.

fabric lust

I've been a horrible, neglectful blogger & shopkeeper lately - not to make excuses, but I've become a bit of a jack-of-all-trades seamstress/newspaper printer/copy editress in the last few months, and at the same time I've been overcome with a powerful desire to actually make things for myself and my home that are not going to be sold/mailed off when they're done. I'm a bad blogger because sometimes I think to myself, "you know what, it's none of their damn business." I mean that in love, of course.

And speaking of wanting to make things, I am desperately in love with a few pieces I found of etsy:

and I'm also very excited about this pattern from BurdaStyle:

and this one from Built by Wendy:

Clearly, there is a pattern here.

(haha, pun.)
