a place for my sandwiches

I went on a bit of a lunch bag kick. I think it was directly inspired by my reusable grocery bags. Suddenly, I must have bags designated for all my various food-carrying needs.

The above bag is oilcloth and from this pattern.

The below bag is home deco weight cotton and from this pattern.

Both bags have carried my lunch admirably.

And also, I'd like to share my small thrifting victory, my exciting coral colored Russel Wright Residential teacup + saucer:

an old trip in pictures

These are polaroids from our 2005 trip to Tennessee. I got them out the other day and fondly remembered that microwave, the one that broke and that the trash men in Minnesota wouldn't take away. We carried it with us to Tennessee, allowing it to see some of the countryside, where it was eventually picked up by less choosy garbage men in front of Joshua's parents' house. I took a picture to commemorate it and all the macaroni and cheese it warmed up in its lifetime.

Our favorite picture though, was "Lost English, Reward Bulldog"

out in the world

Me and my books are being featured for the month of April at my beloved Electric Fetus. See the entire MinnEconomy feature here: whee!

The above picture is of a no longer visible wall on the side of the fetus building. This picture was taken shortly after the adjoining building was demolished. I loved the brief view into the paint colors of a previously interior wall, suddenly exposed for all of Superior St. to see. A new building has since taken up the spot.
